Power Sentinel is a next-generation UPS and energy monitoring suite designed for modern systems, home power users, and small to mid-sized businesses. Built with performance, reliability, and clarity in mind, it delivers deep insight into your power environment while remaining lightweight and easy to use.
Whether you're protecting mission-critical workstations or managing home power backup, PowerSentinel keeps you informed and in control.
Unlike traditional UPS monitoring tools, PowerSentinel delivers a complete and modern experience from the ground up. Built for speed, stability, and clarity, it offers one of the most refined user interfaces available for UPS systems while integrating powerful features such as power analytics, cost tracking, and smart shutdown automation.
Power Sentinel leverages the industry-standard NUT (Network UPS Tools) backend on both Linux and Windows, providing universal UPS communication across hundreds of models and vendors.
By building on NUT, Power Sentinel enhances the user experience with a modern dashboard, real-time alerts, and simplified setup - especially on Windows systems where traditional NUT configuration can be challenging. This integration allows users to harness the full power of NUT without the complexity, making UPS monitoring and battery management easier, faster, and more intuitive.
We are proud to support and acknowledge the open-source communities whose work makes projects NUT and NSSM possible.
Whether you're guarding against power outages, optimizing battery lifespan, or monitoring different UPS devices on different platforms, PowerSentinel provides the tools and reliability you need.
With optional OEM licensing, multi-platform support, and future-ready integration for custom BMS systems, PowerSentinel is built to scale from home environments to small business and enterprise deployments.

We did the math so you don have to. Easily track your UPS power usage over predefined periods.
Your power usage data is stored locally and stays private within your own network. No 3rd party cloud based service needed.
Easily Export all usage data to PDF to print out for your records
The Currency Indicators adapt to your Systems Localisation settings
From power failures to alarms and general UPS information
PowerSentinel will log every power event, neatly grouped by day and week and older. Easily readable so you never have to guess what happened
View and export all power event that took place to a PDF docucment for your convenience
If you are a bit more technical you can also see all Driver information is raw format
PowerSentinel give you a complete overview of your UPS and what data it supplies via NUT
From here you can also send supported commands to your UPS, Disable the beeper, do a battery test and much more
PowerSentinel tracks Battery State of Health (SOH) over time to give you insights into the lifespan and reliability of your batteries. By monitoring cycles, depth of discharge (DoD), and usage trends, it provides a clear visual indication of battery condition from Good, Used, Poor to Replace.
For UPS systems, PowerSentinel can detect critical flags such as Replace Battery (RB) and alert the user immediately. This helps prevent unexpected failures and allows proactive maintenance, saving both time and costs.
The SOH tracking combines historical trends with real-time UPS telemetry, making it easy for users to understand battery health at a glance and plan for replacements before downtime occurs.

Power Sentinel uses Telegram to push notifications to you when events occur so you are always in the loop, even when you are away. We offer a detailed log of events that happened throughout multiple days and weeks that you can view at any time.
Not only does Solstus monitor and send notifications about your power status but also notifications about Eskom and LoadShedding. We provive a direct query to Eskom or via the EskomSePush Api - a well knows South african Notification serices.
A Telegram bot and a channel set up is required, Power Sentinel provides detailed instructions on how to go about setting up Telegram for push notification.
Understanding your energy consumption is essential for managing electricity costs, optimizing backup runtimes, and making informed decisions about your power environment. PowerSentinel includes a complete power analytics suite designed to give you clear and actionable insights into how your system uses electricity.
PowerSentinel continuously monitors your UPS for real-time power draw, battery usage, and runtime performance. These metrics are logged and organised into easy-to-read charts and summaries, helping you monitor trends over days, weeks, months and years even.
By entering your electricity tariff, PowerSentinel calculates estimated daily and monthly energy expenses based on actual usage. This helps you understand exactly how much your system costs to run especially useful during LoadShedding or when relying heavily on backup power solutions.
All tracked power data can be exported with a single click, making it ideal for users who want to perform external analysis or keep records or provide usage reports for business environments.
With PowerSentinel, your power environment becomes transparent, measurable, and easy to optimize.
In South Africa, LoadShedding remains an ongoing challenge that can cause sudden power loss, data corruption, and potential hardware damage. PowerSentinel helps protect your system by intelligently monitoring LoadShedding schedules and preparing your PC ahead of time.
PowerSentinel can obtain real-time LoadShedding status from two reliable sources:
By tracking your area's active or upcoming LoadShedding stages and schedules, PowerSentinel can automatically take action before the power goes out. This includes initiating a safe, timed shutdown of your PC just minutes before the scheduled outage begins preventing data loss and extending battery lifespan on connected UPS devices.
Whether you're working, gaming, or running a home lab, PowerSentinel ensures that your system is never caught off guard by an unexpected cutoff. Combined with its UPS monitoring features, it provides a complete and reliable solution for navigating South Africa's LoadShedding environment with confidence.
PowerSentinel includes an integrated Wake-On-LAN (WOL) system that allows your computers, servers, and networked devices to be powered on remotely using Magic Packets. As long as the hardware and BIOS support WOL, the software can wake devices from shutdown, sleep, or hibernation to restore uptime after an outage.
For regions affected by load-shedding, PowerSentinel offers a unique Keep-Alive module. When enabled, it broadcasts a WOL Magic Packet every 10 minutes to all configured machines to ensure systems remain online or automatically return to service if a scheduled outage never happens.
PowerSentinel provides up to three user-defined shutdown timers that can operate in either manual mode or in LoadShedding-Managed mode for automated safety shutdowns.
In manual mode, you can set specific times for the system to shut down perfect for:
When linked with the LoadShedding module, timers become intelligent. Instead of fixed hours, shutdowns are
automatically scheduled before the next load-shedding event, ensuring safe power-down and maximum
UPS runtime.
Supports up to 3 scheduled load-shedding periods.
Whether you need everyday automation or smart protection during load-shedding, PowerSentinel's shutdown scheduler keeps your systems safe, efficient, and predictable.
PowerSentinel is engineered for efficiency. Unlike many traditional UPS monitoring tools that rely on heavy frameworks or constantly running UI processes, PowerSentinel is written entirely in C++ and is optimized to run silently as a lightweight background service.
During internal testing on Windows 11, PowerSentinel demonstrated a memory footprint as low as 6MB far below most comparable UPS software.
This ensures:
Whether running on a workstation, server, or compact home-lab device, PowerSentinel remains fast, responsive, and extremely resource-friendly.
Track, monitor and power off your PC safely when the power goes out
Recommended for Windows 10 / 11
Available for Debian Linux Desktop Systems (AppImage)
Note: Linux users will need to setup NUT manually, NUT is not bundled with the appimage
Currently Supported on Debian-based systems like Ubuntu, Mint, Zorin etc
Check if your UPS is supported by visiting the NUT Website Here
Note: It is impossible for us to test with all UPS models, basically if your UPS works with NUT then it will work with PowerSentinal
